Every child loves to play with Playdough. This activity is a great hands-on way for children yo learn the color wheel while playing with Playdough. I have also included extra instructions to add the tertiary colors for making the project more advanced for older children.
What you will need:
1 container of red Playdough
1 container of yellow Playdough
1 container of blue Playdough
Instructions:
Divide each color into 2 equal balls.
Divide 1 ball into 1/2.
The other ball will not be mixed with other colors & will be used to represent the primary colors.
Mix one 1/2 ball of red with a 1/2 ball of yellow to make orange.
Mix one 1/2 ball of yellow with a 1/2 ball of blue to make green.
Mix one 1/2 ball of blue with a 1/2 ball of red to make purple.
Help your child to place each color in order to make the circle of a color wheel.
Tertiary Colors:
Divide each color into 1/2 again.
Mix one 1/2 ball of red with a 1/2 ball of orange to make red-orange.
