I had gotten Circle Games when the kids were babies. We would play it in the car when the babes were crying and nothing seemed to settle them. Within a few minutes they would be out, sound a sleep in the land of nod. It worked every time. Eventually the babes became toddlers, and caught on to what we were doing when we turned the cd on. They would yell in the throws of a tantrum that they didn’t want to go sleep, and to turn the music off. I hadn’t played the cd in a while, but the other day the kids were singing “Puff the Magic Dragon” and wanted to hear it. I put it on for them and let the cd play through.
This is how I found Jacob. Calmly listening to the music and snuggling his kankie. It was just after breakfast. We were getting ourselves ready to visit the zoo. This boy, under normal circumstances would have been jumping off the wall with excitement for the day.
Nostalgia or Magic
I think it’s magic that our kids become so content & calm while listening to this music.
Phil says its nostalgia.
